Talking horse sense is a winner

A GILLINGHAM business has been declared a top class training provider in the first annual report by the Adult Learning Inspectorate.

Kent Equine Industry Training Scheme was one of only 24 organisations across the country to receive the top two inspection grades for all aspects of its training.

The report into the standard of education and training received by adults and young people in England showed that 60 per cent of work based provision was inadequate. But KEITS bucked the national trend and was even singled out for praise by the chief inspector of the ALI.

David Sherlock said: "This is a wonderful achievement by KEITS. The quality of their training is a model for others to aspire to."

KEITS trains school leavers and people involved in the horse industry and horse care. David Bright said: "We have worked hard to make KEITS the best quality training centre we can. "Even though we only have limited funds and resources, we have been committed to setting ourselves standards in best practice that we are now meeting. To be singled out by ALI is a great morale boost for everyone."
