Success in the air for KM Radio

MORE listeners are tuning in to KM Radio than ever before.

Canterbury and district's 106CTFM doubled its listening figures over the past year to 203,000 every week. The number of average hours that CTFM listeners are staying tuned-in for is the second-highest of any commercial radio station in the UK, at 15.2 hours per week.

The latest listener figures for TLR 107.2FM show the best ever results for the Thanet-based station, which was launched four years ago.

The audience has risen by 34% in the past two years to reach 32,100, with over a quarter of all adults in TLR's area tuning into the station every week. TLR also recorded weekly listening hours of 355,400; another record for the station which ranks amongst the best performing community stations in the South East.

"We are delighted with the latest set of figures," said KM Radio Director, Gavin de Carle. "It is reward for the hard work of the teams who have provided a quality local radio service to the communities of Canterbury, Whitstable and Herne Bay and Thanet, Sandwich and Deal.

"It is also great news for our advertisers who have stayed with us since we launched over four years ago. As part of our development plans, we will be investing further in a state-of-the-art news centre and new transmission facilities, which will further boost the service that CTFM offers."
