Multi-million pound upgrade for country hotel

A WELL-KNOWN Mid-Kent hotel is to have a £4million facelift.

The investment at the Marriott Tudor Park Golf and Country Club at Bearsted, near Maidstone, includes a £1.5m refurbishment of all 120 bedrooms.

The work will be completed over the next 18 months but hotel chiefs insist it will be carried out in sections so as not to disburb guests.

They say the new rooms will fit in with the hotel’s rural surroundings and display pictures of local heritage and features.

The refurbishment is part of a nationwide facelift for 11 Marriott Country Clubs. The first new-style bedroom will be trialled at the Bearsted outlet from August this year.

General manager Richard Coggings said: "We strive to offer our customers excellent standards and facilities and this refurbishment highlights this."
