Karate chop lesson in self-belief

MOTIVIATION guru Steve Lawlor is in Canterbury later this month to inspire business hopefuls to greater success by, among other things, chopping wood.

People considering starting a business are being invited to hear how their own personal performance can drive business achievement. Barclays Bank is sponsoring a seminar at The County Hotel, High Street, from 6pm to 9pm on Tuesday March 19.

Business performance consultant Steve Lawlor, of Viewpoint Corporate Development, will share his strategies and techniques for peak performance and show how they can be applied to all aspects of business and personal life.

At the end of his seminar, Mr Lawlor invites the audience to karate-chop planks of wood to show just what is possible for people with plenty of self-belief.

He said: "Successful businesses do well because of a combination of factors. A great idea or product is a good start, but success depends on other personal qualities such as emotional commitment, energy, drive and ambition. This seminar will help people to develop and maximise these characteristics for business success."

Alistair Milroy, Barclays area manager for small business, said: "We want to see people achieve great things in Kent. Attending the seminar will cost just £5 and all the proceeds are being donated to the Kent Air Ambulance. This could be the best £5 you ever spend."

Anyone considering starting a business or who has recently started is invited to the seminar starting at 6pm. More information or to book a place, contact Daren Booth on 01843 254780.
