THE number of students applying to enter business studies courses, including the Diploma in Management Studies, and the Master of Business Administration, at the University of Kent at Medway has risen by 107 per cent.

Applicants for other courses are also on the increase, with applications from international students up 85 per cent.

Jeff Brown director of operations said: "UKM is putting Medway on the national and international map educationally speaking.

"The interest among local schools is also rising and the overall 17 per cent increase in higher education participation across the towns is testament to the success of the partnerships being forged by universities, further education, SEEDA and Medway Council."
