Hollywood-by-sea as new shop opens

HOLLYWOOD glamour has arrived in Whitstable thanks to new shop, Kasa Kasa.

It's the brainchild of Jonathan Kasparian who moved to the town from London three and a half years ago. Previously, Kas - as he is known - lived in California for 25 years, where he was a designer and builder to the stars.

Some of Kas's clients included Laura Dern's father, Bill Crosby's daughter and David Franzoni, who wrote the action-packed epic Gladiator.

Kas and his wife Julie - a writer on Eastenders - moved to the town after visiting on a day trip. They have opened what they describe as an Aladdin's Cave in Beresford Road.

The shop contains Kas's handmade gems of furniture as well as artistic pieces and reclaimed items. "People are surprised to find it here," said Julie who writes under her maiden name of Wassmer, "and they're even more surprised at what they find inside."
