Genesis posts leap in profits

GENESIS Communications has celebrated the opening of its new Kent branch by unveiling record results.

The company defied negative sentiment in the telecommunications sector by hiking turnover by 39 per cent from £35 million to £48.54m. Profits rose 144 per cent to £1.92 million.

The Sevenoaks office opened too late to contribute to the latest set of figures. But Ian Foskett, manager of the branch in River House, London Road, said, "The results are extremely encouraging and we fully expect to contribute good news from this area over the next 12 months."

Genesis employs 350 staff in 12 branches nationwide has more than 108,000 corporate customers. The company switched its emphasis from mobile telecommunication services to fixed line services last year.
