B&P Finance Consultants has won a top award for the third time.

The Kent-based commercial finance broker picked up the Business Moneyfacts award for Commercial Mortgage Broker of the Year.

The firm which helps small and medium enterprises (SMEs) raise finance has won the accolade for three of the past four years. It was runner-up on the other occasion (2010). The decision is based on customer nomination.

The award was presented to Harry Lilly, based in Tonbridge, Nigel Barrington (Ashford), company founder Neil Pointin (Maidstone) and Richard Pickering (Sevenoaks).

Mr Pointin founded the business in 2000 and the team now consists of five former bank managers who between them have more than 150 years of lending experience.

They specialise in commercial funding for property investment, development finance or new cash for expansion and growth.

Mr Pointin puts their success down to a combination of experience, expertise and a real passion for customer service.

He said: “There are specialist lenders out there but they all operate in their own niches and they all have different criteria, which means you really do need to know your way around the market.”
