Final test for young hopefuls

MORE than 100 budding Bransons are to unveil their enterprise at a young business event. Companies from schools across the county will be in the Science Theatre, Salomons, Tunbridge Wells, on May 9 for the Young Enterprise Kent Final.

Students aged 15-19, winners in local area finals, will demonstrate what they have learnt from running their enterprises in the past year. Each company will be judged in three stages: a written 10-page company report, answering questions at a company display stand, and a 10-minute presentation.

Now in its 39th year, the national charity Young Enterprise runs programmes for 75,000 young people each year through the support of 2,000 businesses and 11,500 volunteers. Its aim is 'to inspire and equip young people to learn and succeed through enterprise'.

Sponsors of the county final include HSBC, Geerings, Team Dynamics, Kent County Council, Kent and Medway Education Business Alliance, and Kent Messenger Group.
