Chance to speak out on strategy

A PUBLIC meeting is to be held in Folkestone to let residents, businesses and organisation have their say on how they would like to see the area develop.

A series of meetings are being held all over the Kent and have been organised by the county council. This will help the authority to prepare the Kent Structure Plan, which is a strategy to protect the environment and steer development and investment in the county.

Among the issues to be discussed include what can be done to protect the environment, where new homes should be built and where they should go and transport.

The consultation will be launched on Monday March 18 at County Hall in Maidstone when senior council members and officers will be speaking to an invited audience of district councillors and representatives from business and other organisation.

The Shepway meeting takes place at the Civic Centre in Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone, on Friday April 22, from 7pm. The meeting for the Canterbury area will be in the Guildhall at 7pm on April 24.
