CHANNEL Chamber of Commerce has appointed Caroline Chambers as the new Chamber manager.

Caroline has been the landlady of the award-winning Shepherd Neame pub the King's Head, in Hythe, for the last three years, and she has more than 15 years of sales, marketing and public relations experience.

She said: "Shepway has so much to offer to investors and visitors. My new position enables me to promote all that is good about local businesses - helping them to network with each other.

"The Chamber of Commerce provides an effective range of quality services to business, including practical help and advice, and I am delighted to be a part of this service."

"One of my first jobs is to assist with the promotion of the 2005 Channel Business to Business Show.

"This is a truly outstanding event with a wealth of opportunities for all visitors to help grow their business and be inspired with new ideas and make new contacts."

Peter Hobbs, Chamber chief executive, said: "We were impressed with the large number of good quality applicants for this position - but Caroline's mix of skills and experience, together with her drive and enthusiasm, made her the ideal woman for the job."

Channel Chamber is based in Folkestone.

The 2005 Channel Business to Business show is on Thursday, September 15 at the Grand Hotel, The Leas, in Folkestone.
