Calendar coup for staff of eight

A SMALL printing firm in Paddock Wood has secured the contract to produce the 2003 Radio Times Countryfile calendar, which is to be sold in support of the Children In Need Appeal.

P1 Print has been established in Transfesa Road for five years and employs just eight staff. Managing director Derek Holden said: "It's quite a coup. We are a quality jobbing printer and we don't specialise in calendars but the agency arranging the calendar for the BBC had seen our work for other clients."

The calendar features 12 photographs chosen from a nationwide photography contest launched through the Countryfile TV programme. The contest attracted 10,000 entries and the winners were selected by Patrick Lichfield, Countryfile presenter John Craven and Radio Times editor Gill Hudson.

The calendar will be available through the Radio Times magazine, price £8.50, which includes postage and packing. For every calendar bought, £4 will go to the Children In Need Appeal. Details from 0870 727 4163.
