TURKEY Mill, the business park and event venue, has scooped a coveted business award in a contest judged by a television Dragon.

The historic Maidstone setting off Ashford Road won the accolade in a contest run by commercial radio station Invicta FM.

Prizes include a free radio campaign, interviews with staff, and an advertisement for Turkey Mill that will be broadcast between May 28 and June 24.

The scheme, backed by UPS as an initiative to reward successful businesses offering more to the local community, was judged by Theo Paphitis, the businessman and panellist on BBC2’s Dragons Den.

In its submission, Turkey Mill said it prided itself on attention to detail and offering quality service. "Whether the venue is booked for a wedding, corporate event or private function, the experienced and professional team ensure that the customer receives a level of service that is second to none.

"Every effort is made to tailor each event to the individual needs and expectations of the client. For the local business community it offers a unique venue for that special occasion, with an exemplary balance of service and pleasure."

As for wedding couples, they are promised "the sound of the tumbling waterfall and the occasional presence of swans on the lake epitomising the idyllic dream that every bride aspires to".
