REEVES & NEYLAN has won a national title at the LexisNexis UK Tax Awards.

The accountancy firm, whose head office is in St Margaret's Street, Canterbury, scooped the award for best tax team in a medium-sized firm at a ceremony held in the Hilton Hotel, London, at the end of last month.

Other representatives at the Oscars-style evening, competing in 10 categories of awards, included some of the leading UK accountancy and tax firms such as PwC, Ernst & Young and Deloitte.

Reeves & Neylan managing partner Clive Stevens said: "I have always known that we had a top rate team of tax advisers and so it was reassuring and flattering to have this confirmed.

"The category we won was open to teams of tax advisers from firms with between five and 20 tax partners, so to be judged best in the UK is breathtaking."

Margaret Connolly, corporate tax partner at Reeves & Neylan, picked up the award from surprise guest speaker Clive Anderson.

She was tempted from 'big five' London firm KPMG in February, arrived with more than 20 years experience as a tax adviser, and is credited with having a strong impact on the team.
