POLICE investigating the theft of £500 cash from a pensioner's handbag have released a CCTV image of a woman they would like to speak to, as she may have some useful information about the case.

The 88-year-old female victim had just withdrawn the cash from the Lloyds Bank in High Street, Hythe, on Friday, December 15, shortly before 11am.

The next time she checked her bag, the cash had been taken from a zipped compartment inside it. Tt is thought the offender spotted her withdrawing cash in the bank and followed her.

Anyone who recognises the woman in the CCTV image is asked to contact PC Richard Job on 01303 850055.

Alternatively, if you don’t want to give your name, call Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. You could be eligible for a reward.
