Police were called following reports that someone was trying to raid a shop in Hampton Pier Avenue, at 2.30am, on Tuesday, November 15.

The suspect reportedly left empty-handed not long before police dog Boris and his handler arrived.

The German shepherd traced a scent to a nearby flat where a 37-year-old man was arrested.

Watts has been charged with attempted burglary and refusing to give a sample for a drug test.

He was bailed to appear before Margate Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, December 20.
