Stacy Long came off the bench to score one goal and make another as Ebbsfleet fought back to beat Hayes & Yeading on Tuesday night and move third in the Skrill South.

The visitors trailed to a Jake Reid goal at Kingfield, Hayes’ top scorer punishing a poor backpass with a cool finish on 24 minutes.

After the break, Ebbsfleet pressurised Hayes more and started to gain a foothold.

Billy Bricknell, on as a substitute for the injured Ben May, twice went close, before Fleet boss Steve Brown brought on Long for Daryl McMahon.

The midfielder turned home Anthony Cook’s wayward shot for the equaliser, nine minutes from time, before his in-swinging free-kick was bundled into the net two minutes later

Fleet captain Paul Lorraine wheeled away in celebration but it was Hayes midfielder Geoff Mitchell who got the final touch for an own goal.

This was Ebbsfleet's fifth straight win and it moved them above Basingstoke and Bishop's Stortford.
