Praise for striker after goal drought ends

ESSANDOH: First goal since October
ESSANDOH: First goal since October

Gravesend 2 Tamworth 0

GRAVESEND boss Liam Daish believes Roy Essandoh will thrive under his management after watching the striker score the Fleet’s second goal against Tamworth on Saturday.

Essandoh wrapped the points up for the home side after 55 minutes to claim his first goal since mid-October. He had also come close twice early on with headers.

Daish said: "That goal will do Roy the world of good. The way I like to play will suit Roy as I like the ball delivered into the area quickly and with quality."

Daish was also full of praise for the men putting the crosses in.

He said: "We produced a lot of quality from our wide players, Andy Drury and Matt Lovell. They put in some excellent crosses but their work-rate was also impressive as well.

"We were always in control of the game. I thought we defended well and kept a good line and we hurt them by playing as far up the pitch as possible."
