On loan keeper softens Cronin blow

INJURED: Lance Cronin will miss five weeks

GRAVESEND & Northfleet manager Liam Daish has signed Peterborough goalkeeper Luke McShane on loan.

McShane will provide cover for first choice keeper Lance Cronin who is sidelined for up to five weeks with a groin injury.

It is McShane's second loan spell at Stonebridge Road and his arrival softens the blow of losing Cronin who has played a major part in helping the Fleet into the play-off places.

Daish said: "It's very frustrating for Lance. He's been outstanding for us this season and his international recognition (to the National Game XI) was well deserved.

"This is obviously a setback, but Luke will not let us down. He's been here before and will be familiar with the surroundings so he should settle in quickly."
