NEW Gravesend chairman Jason Botley has made an early declaration of intent by throwing his weight behind manager Liam Daish as the club continue the transition from part-time to full-time football.

The 35-year-old IT manager and life-long Fleet fan took the helm just as 11 players left the club having been unable to commit to full-time demands.

Daish has made no secret of his determination to put his own stamp on the squad and Mr Botley wasted no time in backing his manager.

He said: "I will do all in my power to back Liam as we continue the process of making the change to full-time football."

Mr Botley had previously held the position of vice-chairman for the last six years under close friend and fellow major shareholder Brian Kilcullen.

Replacing Mr Botley as vice-chairman is Adrian Felstead, who has served on the board for two years and is a significant shareholder.
