N’Guessan has been sidelined since October 25 but returned in last weekend’s FA Trophy tie against Eastbourne.

“I’ve missed the last five or six games so I was happy to get 90 minutes last weekend,” said N’Guessan. “It was tough towards the end but I’m really pleased to be back.

“I was feeling good and sharp before the injury but these things happen in football.

“For me personally, we got to the First Round last year but I wasn’t fit enough to play in any of the games. So, to get to the Second Round this season, the furthest I’ve been in the cup, is really exciting.”

Ebbsfleet have lost back-to-back matches since the draw paired them with the Cods.

N’Guessan admitted it’s been hard not to talk about the tie, especially with the ITV cameras in town this weekend hoping to see an upset.

“Since the draw came out and we knew we were playing against a team three leagues above us, there’s been a bit of talk but we were focused on the games we’ve had,” he said.

“We’re excited to be on television. I’ve never played on TV before, I’m sure some of other lads have, but once I’m on the pitch I don’t think I’ll really notice what’s going on around me.

“It’s got to be one of the biggest games for me as it’s the highest level of opposition I’ve been up against in a competitive match.

“There’s always one or two upsets in every round, so why can’t it be us?

“I wouldn’t say we’ve dipped recently, things just haven’t fallen for us how we would like with a couple of chances not going our way like they did previously. I’m sure that will turn around as long as we keep creating chances and defend well.”
