Gravesend & Northfleet 4 Tamworth 1

MARK DeBOLLA’S two spectacular free-kick goals helped Gravesend to an easy victory over Tamworth in the Nationwide Conference at Stonebridge Road on Tuesday night.

Charlie MacDonald put the home side in front after seven minutes when he turned inside the area and shot in off the post.

Fleet were looking the livelier outfit but were stunned after 15 minutes when Jon Stevenson’s right foot volley flew past keeper Lance Cronin.

Ten minutes before the break, the home side restored their lead when DeBolla curled a 30-yard free-kick into the bottom corner.

The former Charlton youngster then added his second on 53 minutes when he drove a powerful free-kick into the net.

Fleet were well in control and it was left to MacDonald to capitalise on a slip in defence by Alan Neilson and coolly slot home the fourth.
