Ford confident about Dover trophy tie

CLIVE WALKER: injury worries
CLIVE WALKER: injury worries

GRAVESEND & Northfleet take a break from their struggle against relegation from the Conference on Saturday when they visit Dover Athletic in the FA Trophy, third round.

Fleet manager Andy Ford said: "I think we can go there in a confident frame of mind after the way we played in the second half against Yeovil." Gravesend left-back Justin Skinner misses the match through suspension.

Dover manager Clive Walker is hopeful the tie will go ahead despite the weather. He said: "We trained at Crabble on Monday night and the pitch didn't look too bad. If we don't get a lot more rain and snow it should be OK."

Walker is hoping that Mark Patterson and Danny Chapman, who both have groin injuries, will be fit but he is not so sure about Andy Arnott (knee) and Matt Carruthers (virus).

Should a replay be necessary it will be at Stonebridge Road on Tuesday, January 14, kick off 7.45pm.
