GRAVESEND have agreed a deal with Welling over the prolonged transfer of defender James Smith.

Smith talked with Fleet boss Liam Daish on Friday to finalise personal terms after the clubs agreed an undisclosed fee.

The stumbling block had been a sell-on clause but Wings boss Adrian Pennock is happy that it is now included in the deal.

Pennock said: "It's a good deal for both parties. He is going to join a Conference club and we wish him well for the future."
