EBBSFLEET will receive more than £30,000 following the sale of former striker Liam Hatch because of a sell-on clause when he joined Barnet.

Hatch, who joined Barnet from Fleet for £23,000 in July 2003, completed his £150,000 move to Peterborough on New Year’s Day.

As part of the deal Fleet were due to receive 25 per cent of any future profit, a clause triggered by Hatch’s move.

Ebbsfleet secretary Roly Edwards said: “These things do tend to come out of the blue when you least expect it.

“It’s very good at this moment in time. It’s a drop in the ocean and we’re obviously hoping for bigger things from the MyFootballClub takeover.”
