Says several young players have caught his eye in pre-season

EBBSFLEET UNITED manager Liam Daish could turn to the club's youngsters in an effort to bolster his first-team squad this season.

Four players from Fleet's Programme of Academic and Sporting Excellence (PASE) scheme have caught Daish's eye during pre-season.

Striker John Akinde and midfielders Luke Coleman, Lee Maskell and Danny Stubbs have all impressed Daish and look set to play a part in the club's schedule of friendlies.

Daish said: "They've impressed me with the way they have stayed with the older lads. I asked them to be back fit and at it and they've been really good.

"I'm looking to get them involved in the first team environment as that way they will gain experience."
