BRIAN KILCULLEN: "It's the tie of the round"

GRAVESEND and Kent Nationwide Conference rivals Margate duel for a £20,000 jackpot when they meet in the FA Cup, qualifying fourth round, at Stonebridge Road on Saturday, October 26.

The sum is the amount of prize-money at stake in a winner-takes-all clash that will also see the victors dreaming of further riches with the lucrative prospect of a tie against a league club in the first round proper.

Gravesend & Northfleet chairman Brian Kilcullen spelt out the incentives as the Fleet prepared for a 2,500 crowd on the day.

He said: “I suppose some people will describe Aldershot at home to Dagenham and Redbridge as the tie of the round. Personally, I think it’s Gravesend against Margate which is a tough draw.

“We've been in touch with Margate and they reckon they'll bring somewhere in the region of 500 to 1,000 supporters."
