Ebbsfleet boss Jamie Day has warned that struggling Sutton have enough individual quality to upset his side this weekend.

The U’s finished second in Conference South last season, but they’re now just two places and four points above the drop zone having won only one of their last 11 games.

A win at Gander Green Lane could lift Day’s side up to third place, but he won’t be taking Saturday’s opponents lightly.

He said: "Sutton, on their day, can beat anyone.

"We need to make sure we go there with confidence but with the right attitude, knowing that if we play to the best of our ability, we can win the game.

"If we don’t, we’ll come unstuck and we’ll get beat."

Ebbsfleet, who knocked Conference side Forest Green Rovers out of the FA Trophy on Saturday, have been in superb form on the road lately.

In an unbeaten run of eight away games stretching back to September, they’ve scooped 20 of a possible 24 points.

Day said: "Saturday was a great result for us but our bread and butter is the league. That’s where we need to start picking up points and winning games.

"We can take confidence from Saturday but we need to make sure, mentally, we’re prepared for Sutton because we need to go there and get something from that match.

"We’ve got a good squad of players at the minute and we’ve added to that. We have got a good side and they just need to believe in themselves."
