Police want to speak to man after robbery in toilet

An elderly woman suffered a broken arm after being robbed by a man in a shopping centre toilets.

Police have released this image after the 77-year-old woman was robbed in the public toilets at St George's Shopping Centre in Kempthorne Street, Gravesend at 8.39am today.

A man wearing sunglasses snatched her bag, containing her purse.

She says she was followed by a white man wearing sunglasses, who then took her handbag which contained her purse.

During the robbery the woman fell and fractured her arm. She was later taken to Darent Valley Hospital for treatment.

DC Robert Denham from Kent Police said he wanted to speak to someone wearing a white T-shirt, blue knee-length shorts and white trainers near the centre at the time.

He said: "CCTV shows the woman entering the ladies’ toilets at 8:39am and another man is seen to enter after her.

"The CCTV and an eyewitness have then seen a man emerge from the toilets and leave the area on foot through the multi-storey car park."
