Ebbsfleet chairman Phil Sonsara says he isn’t frightened by a return to Blue Square Bet Premier football next season.

He also hopes that the club’s success will boost myfootballclub subscriptions which he says haven’t been factored into the "revised budget" which will be finalised this week.

Mr Sonsara said: "The take up has hasn’t been as good as we hoped but I am sure our success this season means a lot of people will come back.

"Our first priority once the celebrations have died down is to produce a revised and far better budget to work with next season.

"Liam always rises to a challenge. We have set him up a little bit better and hopefully we will be able to push on and have a good season. We’re up for the challenge."

Meanwhile, vice-chairman Duncan Holt (pictured) admitted he left his seat with the Fleet leading 3-0 with five minutes to go to get champagne from his car.

He said: "I then heard the (two Farnborough) goals go in and decided to leave it there – I was nervous then!"

Mr Holt added: "There’s a deal for Liam on the table and hopefully that will be sorted out in the next week.

"He is totally integral to everything that goes on at the club. It starts with him and works down."
