Eat your heart out, Strictly Come Dancing! Gravesend gran Doreen Vickery does the macarena to mark her 100th birthday

Strictly Come Dancing may have returned to our screens, but the true home of first class boogieing is here in Kent.

Doreen Vickery is no stranger to putting on a show, but the grandma outdid herself this week by dancing the macarena to mark her 100th birthday at The Hollies Residential Home.

The home, which is in Darnley Road, Gravesend, posted the footage on its Facebook page after Doreen reached the landmark on Monday.

Doreen is further proof that there seems to be something in the water at The Hollies - she has joined an already strong community of centenarians who call it their home.

Great-great-grandmother Florence O’Dwyer joined the home’s ‘100-Plus Club’ in March, while George Huggins turned 104 and Alfred Hickmott reached 103.
