Vehicles damaged in underground car park blaze

FIREFIGHTERS spent nearly two and a half hours battling a blaze in an underground car park early today.

Two crews from Thamesside fire station were called to the Maltings flats, off Bath Street in Gravesend, where two vehicles were on fire.

A spokesman said: "It was a big fire. There was a lot of damage to the car park and to the ceiling, the electrical works and the water system."

A further two vehicles were also damaged in the blaze that started around 3.30am.

It is not thought that any residents were evacuated from the former brewery building.
