A police car on its way to a 999 call crashed with a Kia which went into a wall.

Police are now appealing for witnesses after the smash which involved a cream Kia Soul along with the marked Kent Police car in Pelham Road South, Gravesend.

The incident happened at about 1pm on Sunday, March 18.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage. A wall of a house was also damaged.

The police car came to a stop outside the Flower Pot florist.

Carol Barrett, 57, of Valley Drive, Gravesend, who works there said: "There was a bang - we weren't sure if it was the cars hitting each other or the car going into the wall.

"A lot of people were outside watching.

"They taped off the area. People were coming into the shop and asking what had gone on.

"I don't think anyone was hurt although there was an ambulance."

No one was injured.

The road was closed for four hours to allow for investigation and recovery work.

PC Glen Braidwood said: 'We are very keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision."
