Two released without charge after 'firearms incident' near Toby Carvery in Northfleet

Two men who were arrested and taken into custody after police were called to a firearms incident have been release without charge.

The incident happened near to the Toby Carvery in Coldharbour Road in Northfleet on Monday evening.

Armed police were called to the scene after officers received a report someone had been seen with a firearm.

A 33-year-old from Hailsham and an 18-year-old from Croydon were arrested on suspicion of firearms offences.

Officers were called to the area after someone reported they had seen a man with a weapon in a car park.

The incident happened at about 5.20pm.

The pair were questioned on Tuesday by officers and this morning it was revealed they had been released without charge.

Police spokesman Vicki Foster added: "Following inquiries no weapons were found and officers are satisfied that no offences have been committed."
