Old Road East in Gravesend blocked after tree 'struck by lightning'

A large tree has fallen down and blocked a main route in the town.

It's fallen down in Old Road East, Gravesend, after being 'struck by lightning' and is blocking the road.

It comes after heavy rainfall and thunder has caused problems on the towns roads and flooded parts of the M25.

Kent Highways confirmed that Kent County Council (KCC) were aware of the issue and are working on the matter.

Earlier this week another tree fell down and blocked part of Pelham Road and Grange Road, in Gravesend.
