Three men have been arrested following a serious assault in Gravesend town centre last weekend.

Officers arrested a 28-year-old at his home address in Snodland on Tuesday in connection with the incident outside Pizza Go Go in New Road at around 11.30pm on May 10. He has been bailed pending further inquiries.

Officers arrested two other men yesterday in connection with last weekend's incident.

A 55-year-old man is still in hospital in a critical but stable condition following the incident.

Benjamin Turner, 24, of Foxendown Lane, Meopham, has been charged with one count of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on June 2.

The second man arrested, who is 31 and from Meopham, was also bailed by police pending further inquiries.

Detectives continue to appeal for information and for witnesses who may have been at the taxi rank in New Road to come forward. If you can help, call police on 01474 369005 or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
