Wanjdji Dogbo of Railway Street, Northfleet charged with robbery after huge armed police search in Northfleet

A second man has been remanded in custody and will appear at crown court accused of robbery following an armed police search in Northfleet on Tuesday evening.

Wanjdji Dogbo, 27, of Railway Street, Northfleet, has been charged with robbery and possession of an imitation firearm with intention to cause fear or violence.

Officers arrested Dogbo on Friday. He was charged and remanded in custody before an appearance at Medway Magistrates' Court via video link today. He will remain in custody and appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday, July 7.

Leon Bunn, 29, of Doria Drive, Gravesend, had already been arrested and appeared at Medway on Thursday charged with one count of robbery, one count of possession of an imitation firearm with intention to cause fear of violence and one count of possession of cannabis.

Bunn and Dogbo reportedly robbed a woman and threatened her and another man with what was believed to be a handgun in Painters Ash Lane, Northfleet at around 7.30pm.

Witnesses later saw police cars and ambulance vehicles in nearby Dene Holm Road, as well as Doria Drive and Freeman Road, both in Gravesend, as officers searched for the suspect.

One resident of Doria Drive said she saw eight police officers, two of them armed, as well as a helicopter circling above the area.

Bunn was sent to Maidstone Crown Court, where he will appear next month.
