Gravesend's Albion Waterside regeneration project moves a step forward

Plans for a riverside regeneration project which could see the creation of 1,500 homes and 400 jobs have taken a step further forward.

A notice has been placed alerting people to a forthcoming planning application by developers of the Albion Waterside project, in Gravesend. They are due to submit a planning application to Gravesham council in February after re-shaping initial ideas following public consultation.

The scheme had been for 1,300 homes but earlier this month Joseph Homes, the team behind the development, revealed it had secured a further three acres of land to build an extra 200 homes.

The notice says JH Milton Ltd will be applying to Gravesham council for full planning permission for the demolition of existing buildings and structures, a new river wall, works to a swing bridge and highway junction improvements.

A separate Listed Building consent application is to be submitted for alteration and refurbishment work to the Grade II-listed swing bridge.

Any owner of the land or tenant who wishes to make representations about the application should write to Gravesham Borough Council by Thursday, February, 11.

The notice is needed as some of the land is unregistered.
