Police seize £6000 of drugs after stopping vehicle in Gravesend

Three people have been arrested after police seized £6000 worth of drugs.

Gravesham Community Policing Team said the Class A drugs had been found when they stop-checked a vehicle in Gravesend on Wednesday night.

Officers on patrol had become suspicious of a vehicle travelling in Perry Street and, after following it for a short distance, requested it to stop in Snelling Avenue.

Suspecting the occupants were involved in the supply of drugs, police searched the vehicle and uncovered a white powder, believed to be a class A drug.

They subsequently arrested three people - a 24-year-old man, an 18-year-old man, and a 20-year-old woman - all from Northfleet.

The 18-year-old man has since been bailed, pending further enquiries, until Friday March 8, while the other two arrested people have been released, pending further enquiries.

The Gravesham police team also took to Twitter to post a photo of the drugs - which showed a quantity of white powder in a plastic bag.

They said a quantity of cash was also found by the team, and that the investigation continues.
