Man charged with burglary in Gravesend after dog finds him under car

A man has been charged after he was found hiding under a car by a police dog.

Officers were called at around 3.30pm yesterday to a property in Fenners Marsh, Gravesend.

A man who they wanted to speak to tried to run off from the scene, but was found close to the house.

Kent Police's Tactical Operations unit tweeted about their dog Parker's success.

It said: "PD Parker was busy yesterday. CAD 20-1013, male wanted for numerous burglaries made off from @kentpolicegrav with some cracking containment by local officers and PCSOs, Parker joined the game of hide and seek.

"Let's just say you can't hide from a dogs nose under a car #Dog1Crim0."

Billy Treays, of no fixed address, was arrested and later charged with five counts of burglary.

He appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court on Thursday, February 21 where he was remanded in custody and is set to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday, March 21 for trial.
