New family centre unveiled

A NEW facility for families has opened in Kings Farm.

The Next Steps Children’s Centre was officially unveiled on Friday at a special ceremony attended by Mayor of Gravesham, Cllr Ken Jones, local MP Adam Holloway and families from the area.

The facility, which is based at Kings Farm School, in Cedar Avenue, boasts a range of services for children from birth to five years old and their families, including general health advice, as well as fun, play sessions.

The school already runs a series of events including a coffee morning and parent support group.

Next Steps was opened by young mum Jackie Cole, who won a competition to design the centre logo.

With only two weeks until Christmas, the opening had a festive theme complete with Santa’s elves and children from Ifield, Kings Farm and Whitehill Primary Schools who sang a selection of carols.
