Murder suspect in TV video link

A MAN accused of murdering Joseph Ennis at the Swanley Interchange on the A20 made a brief appearance at Maidstone Crown Court today/on Thursday.

Francois Christophe, of Maritime Gate, Northfleet, spoke only to be identified via a TV video link from Elmley Prison, Sheppey.

The 47-year-old is alleged to have stabbed Mr Ennis, 42, from Gravesend, when they were both in a Peugeot 405 car on July 4. Mr Ennis died from multiple stab wounds.

Kent Police have appealed for a woman seen walking along the London-bound carriageway in the coast-bound direction the of the A20 pulling a suitcase on wheels at about 7.15pm that day to contact them.

Judge Andrew Patience, QC, remanded Mr Christophe in custody until September 16, when he is expected to enter a plea to the charge.
