A MAN accused of committing a horrific murder in Gravesend more than four years ago made a brief appearance at Maidstone Crown Court.

Guljinder Singh Gurewal, known as Sukha, is alleged to have killed Kamaljit Singh Kalon, who was aged 31, on Gordon Promenade on July 10, 2003.

Mr Kalon, a married father-of-three from Sidcup, died after he was stabbed more than 40 times.

Bearded Gurewal, 30, of no fixed address, spoke only to be identified through a Punjabi interpreter.

On Thursday, Judge Michael Lawson, QC, remanded him in custody until March 7, when he is expected to enter a plea.

Police want to interview another man, named as Baljinder Singh Kooner, 32, known as Jinder.
