A crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle was reported to the police at 10.40am.

A spokesman for the force said lane closures were in place and police were at the scene.

They added: "The motorcyclist is being taken to hospital but his injuries are not life threatening."

At the time a witness told KentOnline: "There's a nasty looking accident on the A2 London-bound by the Swanscombe turn off - several cars and a motorbike seem to be involved."

Congestion was said to be building back to the Tollgate services.
