Motorcyclist injured in A227 collision

A 17-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist was taken to hospital with a serious leg injury after being involved in a road traffic collision with a lorry.

The incident happened at around 3.30pm on the A227 Wrotham Road at the junction with Chapmans Hill, Meopham, yesterday (Wednesday).

Kent Air Ambulance responded to the emergency call but the teenager was taken to Darent Valley Hospital by land ambulance. Kent Police were also in attendance and closed the road for three hours.

A spokesman at Darent Valley Hospital said the young man’s condition is stable and comfortable.

The driver of the lorry was not injured but received treatment for shock.
