A man is in police custody today following a collision in which a cyclist suffered rib injuries in Gravesend.

The 30-year-old was arrested on suspicion of a road traffic offence, having no insurance and theft.

Police were called to Denton Court Road just after 11.25pm on Wednesday (March 18) following a report of a collision between a red Peugeot 206 and the cyclist.

The vehicle stopped but left shortly before patrols arrived on the scene.

Officers carried out inquiries and later arrested the man, who is from Gravesend.
