Following a search, officers spotted the truck parked in a garage block near Bramble Avenue in Southfleet, just two and a half miles away.

A man was then found inside the vehicle and detained on suspicion of theft.

Police also recovered stolen tools from nearby bushes which have since been returned to the victim.

The suspect, a 37-year-old man of no fixed address, was also arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs when officers seized a quantity of suspected heroin.

He has since been released on bail until October 24 while further enquiries are completed.
