The alleged attack is said to have happened near the Blackwell Jewellers & Pawnbrokers in the high street on Sunday.

Ibrahim, 34, appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court earlier today charged on suspicion of multiple offences.

As well as kidnap and attempted rape, Ibrahim, of London Road, Swanscombe, has also been charged with sexual assault on a woman, making threats to kill, possession of an offensive weapon, drink-driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.

It is alleged Ibrahim tried to rape the woman who he apparently followed as she walked alone. He then attempted to force her into his car, it is further alleged.

Ibrahim did not enter any pleas in relation to the charges and the case against him was adjourned.

It was sent to Woolwich Crown Court to be dealt with and he is next due to appear there on October 25. He was remanded in custody until then.
