Major announcement expected on Heritage Quarter

THE council is expected to make a "major" announcement regarding the town centre today (Tuesday).

Gravesham Borough Council revealed its intentions to make an announcement of major news interest, but refused to explain what it would be about.

However, it is widely expected to be about the controversial plans by developer Edinburgh House for the redevelopment of the Heritage Quarter.

The plans, which are currently out for public consultation, include a 32-storey riverside tower block which has divided the population of the town.

For a full update of the announcement at 11.30am, see the Gravesend Messenger website and the Gravesend Messenger, in shops from Wednesday afternoon.
