Drivers faced long delays on the A2 after a crash involving a van and a motorcycle this morning.

Two lanes were blocked near the Tollgate Services until around 8am.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 6.29am on 10 March following a two vehicle collision on the A2 near the junction for Gravesend.

"The incident was on the London-bound carriageway and involved a van and a motorcycle.

"There are currently lane closures in place while police and South East Coast Ambulance Service attend the scene.

"There are not believed to be any life threatening injuries."

The delays were not helped by another accident on the London-bound A2 near Blackheath, which caused 11 miles of queues and delays of 40 minutes.

Over-running roadworks between the Tollgate Services and the A296 Roman Road slip road also had a knock-on effect.
